Using MySpace as a Means of Promoting and Advertising Your Website

One way to get easy targeted visitors to your website is by utilizing MySpace. I have a myspace profile with a little over one thousand friends on my list. Every few days I will send out a bulletin (bulletins post to all of the people on your friends list at once) that posts my website along with some information such as a movie clip, a random joke, information, or pictures. I get an average of anywhere from a 15-35% response rate from posting a simple bulletin. Some of those visitors generate into sales, and some do not. But the fact is, people are likely to click on the bulletins and visit your site if you present it with some interesting information. I have recently started to utilize MySpace as a great means of getting initial visitors to a website that I have just published. When I first started to use MySpace as a way of advertising I had 350 people on my friends list. The first day I published the new website, I sent out a bulletin. I then sent out a bulletin every other day. For one week, I sent out three bulletin's and averaged a little over 100 unique visits per day on a freshly published website with no other form of advertising. About 750 unique hits in the first week. That's not a huge whopping amount, but considering MySpace was the only form of Advertising that I had implimented, it was a decent start. So in a nutshell, if you work on adding people to your MySpace page it will pay off when you send out a bulletin advertising your website. It also helps to forward other people's bulletins if they infact will agree to forward your bulletins. It's a good way to get a jump start on promoting your freshly published website! Enjoy! |
